Celebrating Auaha
Congratulations to our tamariki who were acknowledged for showing amazing auaha!
This fortnight we have been focusing on developing our knowledge and use of auha.
Auaha (Oh - wa - ha) means to be creative or innovative. This is seen as the product of being inquiring and curious or igniting a passion for learning. Auaha involves adapting and improvising, an ability to solve problems and be inventive, as well as fixing and creating solutions.
Some of the learning activities included; observing and drawing nature, taking photographs of interesting things around our kura, and playing 'I notice ...' with a buddy. At home, you might like to access The Kid Should See This - Smart Videos For Curious Minds Of All Ages. This is a site that curates genuinely gorgeous and thought-provoking videos - ones that aren't aimed at kids, so anyone, of any age, would also dig them.
