ANZH Mural
In 2023 we began implementing the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum, and as part of this our Year 6 tamariki investigated what resources were here before people arrived. They then created some designs for a mural.
Rodrigo Rozas (Chileone) was then commissioned to bring the children's ideas together in a mural on the end of their classroom (Tauhinu).
On the left of the design is a Moa, followed by Tui on a Kowhai tree branch and Raupō in swampland. In the middle is a Kahikatea tree, followed by a Jewelled Gecko, Tī kōuka tree, Eel, and Harakeke on the right-hand side.
A big than you to our Year 6 tamariki, Rodrigo Rozas, and those who have supported us financially by generous donations; the Christchurch City Creative Communities grant and the Backhouse family.
