Cross Country
Kia ora koutou,
Coming up in term 2 is our Heathcote Valley School Cross Country which is going to follow a bit of the same path as it did for last year. Again, we are joining forces with Lyttelton Primary down at Ferrymead Park on Thursday the 15th of May (week 3 - with the pp date of the 20th).
Our day will kick off with our “Competitive” Cross Country in the morning and then having a “Fun Run” and games afternoon with the whole school - some outside sport providers joining us as well as our PALs running activities for the younger students.
This “Competitive” Cross Country is an opt-in event so please have a discussion with your child at home about this as we would like as many as possible to be a part of this, it is always awesome to see tamariki challenging themselves out around the park. See below for the plan!
We encourage the children on the day to wear their house colours on Tuesday so that they can represent their house at the event. With the changeable weather at the moment students will need to bring warm clothing as well as a sunhat, a full drink bottle and lunch box to get through the day as well.
Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on our athletes throughout the day. Please make sure that if you are bringing a dog to the park that they are on a lead.
We are also hunting for some marshals to cheer on and guide our tamariki on the right track around the course. If you are able to help please fill in the following Google Form - Google Form
