Support needed

Emma Stoddart has been teaching at Waimairi School for 10 years, and is mother to Jacob (Room 17) and Eli (at Waimairi).  Emma has Multiple Sclerosis and has made the very hard decision to get HSCT done - a stem cell transplant. She and her husband Chris, are going to Mexico in September and will spend a month undergoing some extensive treatments including a full course of chemotherapy. The hope is that this will stop the disease progressing any further. Emma will not be able to work for about a year. It is expected that the cost of this will be over $100,000.

Heaton wants to support Emma and Chris in any way with their fundraising efforts.  There are a few ways you can help:

https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/help-emma-fight-multiple-sclerosis
• drop a donation into the office
• donate something to be made into raffles (chocolates, wine, non -perishable goods for example)
• donate a voucher or similar that could be auctioned at a fundraising event

As part of their fundraising, they are having a Fiesta! Drinks, food, raffles, auctions, music, on August 16th, 7pm at the Redwood Hotel.  https://www.eventbrite.co.nz/e/mexican-night-fiesta-tickets-63614431477

If you would like to get in touch with Emma with any ideas or offers of support, please do: emma.stoddart@waimairi.school.nz.

For some time I have known about my Mum’s condition. Until a few months ago I never realised how serious this was. My Mum (Emma) suffers from Multiple Sclerosis. This has progressed to a stage were she now requires urgent treatment. Mum will receive this treatment in Mexico in a few weeks. The cost of the treatment and travelling will be approximately $100,000.

I really want to help my parents in some way, so I suggested to Mrs Knight that we have a mufti day and ask students to bring a gold coin donation. This money will be used to get Mum to Mexico, where she can receive treatment.  The mufti day is on Thursday, 8 August.

During this time, I will be living with friends and family. I appreciate your support with this and hope you can help.

Thank you
