Kōwhai House

This year, Kōwhai House is ready and excited for everything that comes our way. Now that we are Year 8’s, there are so many more exciting opportunities for us to enjoy. One is our new house name. Kōwhai is the name for our yellow house, is considered the tree of New Zealand, and is part of the Ngāi Tahu taonga series . When it flowers, that is when we can tell the season has changed.

Another thing we love about our house is our teachers. This year, we are lucky to have Mrs Eames in Room 8, Miss Rogers in Room 18, and Mr Naidoo / Mrs Earl in Room 17.

As Year 8’s, we have the privilege of going to our favourite specialist subjects, new sports for us to enjoy, and if we are lucky enough, going to an extension specialist subject. We can tell that 2022 is going to be a great year for us, and we can’t wait to get into it!
