During the second week of school, Heaton was fortunate to be a pilot school for the new cycle and road safety programmes Christchurch City Council are offering. These lessons and activities are part of an education package and initiative to promote cycling and to help keep our tamariki safe. 

There were a variety of lessons and activities to engage the students with the important messages that the tutors were teaching. We are appreciative of the time and effort it took to implement such an experience for our students.  We encourage you to continue to reinforce the ideas covered in the programmes so that our students, your children, are safe and courteous citizens of our community.
