Ngai Tahu tuition funding.  Ngai Tahu has a tuition fund for all students aged 5-21 who are registered with Ngai Tahu. This fund provides students with a term of Maths and/or English tuition, whether they need extension, remedial work or simply a boost in confidence.

NumberWorks’nWords has been nominated by Ngai Tahu as an accredited provider of Maths and English tuition for many years now. While some local children take advantage of this, we believe there will be many others who are eligible for assistance, but they are unaware of it or need guidance to take up this opportunity. To be eligible for the Term 3 tuition fund, parents must fill out an application online by Monday 8th July.

The amount of funding available per financial year for tuition support is as follows:

  • $470 +GST is available to all students aged 5-21 who are registered with Ngai Tahu
  • $940 +GST is available to all students aged 5-21 who are registered with Ngai Tahu and are either seeking remedial support or are studying at NCEA level and need support in two or more subject areas

The Ngai Tahu website has online application forms which can be found at https://ngaitahu.iwi.nz/whanau/opportunities/tahua-taunaki-akonga-learner-support-fund/
