Covid-19 Processes and Procedures

Grainne O'Mahony —

There have been some recent changes to how we are managing Covid-19 processes at school. The most important points are shared below along with some helpful diagrams.

Wearing masks correctly is one of the most important protective measures we can use at school. Please talk to your daughter about this. Students who wear masks properly and who are in indoor spaces together for a period of time will now be deemed Casual Contacts, should a class member (who was also masked) test positive for COVID-19 in the days that follow. If masks are worn incorrectly e.g. under the nose, this increases the risk of transmission and means a student may be asked to isolate as a close contact. The diagram with this article is a reminder about how to wear a mask correctly.

The school is also employing other measures such as cleaning surfaces before each lesson, encouraging good hygiene practices and ensuring good ventilation in classrooms.

The chart below should help to clarify what is required if a student is named as a close or casual contact or if they receive a positive Covid test.
