The Chiefs Manawa competition is well underway, with this match against New Plymouth to get us started.

Tuesday 17 May 2022 will go down in rugby history books for all the right reasons. On a wet and windy afternoon in New Plymouth our rugby team played New Plymouth Girls' High School in the first game of the newly formed Chiefs Manawa 1st XV Girls Competition. Our team, lead by Captain Veisinia Fakalelu, was outstanding in the oppressive conditions. Vice-Captain Bostyn Brown assisted with multiple opposition turnovers. It was a real team effort with all players displaying their talents throughout the game with HGHS winning 32 - 5. Fullback Aaliyah Konui proved to be a real strike weapon out wide and was named Player of the Match. 

This was backed up by a convincing win against Taupo-nui-a-Tia on Friday 25 May, 77-0.
