The crisp air of a perfect Hamilton winter's day set the stage for our 2024 Open Day. This annual event serves as a bridge, connecting curious Year 8 students and their whānau with the vibrant world of Hamilton Girls' High School.

Enrolling in secondary school marks a significant turning point, the final chapter of childhood education. At HGHS, we understand the importance of this decision, and we're proud to share the multifaceted educational experience we offer – a blend of academic rigour and a rich co-curricular landscape.

Our goal is to empower young women to excel in whatever path they choose. We endeavour to ignite their dreams, nurturing a spirit of ambition that allows them to actively shape their destiny. This philosophy resonated throughout Open Day, attracting over 1200 students and their whānau from more than 50 different schools.

Open Day showcased the energy of our dedicated student helpers. Their warm smiles, insightful conversations, and genuine enthusiasm provided a first-hand glimpse into the welcoming and supportive environment that defines our school culture. Year 8 students found their interactions with these peer mentors invaluable, gaining a deeper understanding of our unique ethos and the sense of belonging that awaits them at HGHS.
