Sports Awards Evening

Hamish Berkers —

The exceptional sporting talent of our kura was celebrated at an entertaining awards evening.

Friends, whānau, and teachers of all the talented HGHS sports people gathered to celebrate their successes.

The night highlighted the large variety of sports on offer at HGHS, and made it clear how exceptional the teams and individuals at our kura are, with multiple first placings at various nationals throughout the year.

We were lucky to enough to host guest speaker David Galbraith, who works as a mind coach for multiple Olympic medalists and high-performance sports teams. David shared what it takes to be phenomenal, with his magic formula Identity X Courage = Authentic (Kusemono).

Our top sports awards:

Outstanding Contribution to Sport: Kaiya Kepa

HGHS Fair Play Award: Eleina Ieremia and Emily Cox

Junior Allrounder Sportswoman: Kamaile Haggie

Junior Sportswoman of the Year: Pippa Mihaka

Team of the Year: Premier Netball Team

Truscott Trophy All Rounder Award: Amarnee Shepherd and Marewa Samson
