Sara Jury takes 2nd place at WAIBOP Cross Country Champs

Seven athletes represented Hamilton Girls' at the WAIBOP Cross Country Champs, hosted by Hauraki Plains College, in Mangatarata on Wednesday 8th June.

We had an impressive set of results at the competition, which has led to three students competing at Cross Country Nationals.

Year 9 Girls (51 runners)
Sarah-Kate Nicholas, 11th place
Whitu Gridelli-Muru, 22nd place 

Junior Girls (U16, 42 runners)
Molly Peate, 6th place
Carenza Elley, 11th place
Nisha Moorfield, 12th place

Senior Girls (U20, 34 runners)
Sara Jury, 2nd place
Phoebe Barnes, 27th place

Our three runners who went on to represent us at the national competition performed valiantly and achieved the following results:

  • Sara Jury, 22nd (senior, 103 runners)
  • Monique Spedding, 67th (senior, 103 runners)
  • Carenza Elley, 39th (junior, 84 runners).
