Wendy Calder —

This event was held on the North Shore of Auckland across three clubs, Browns Bay, North Shore, Devonport from 4th - 7th August. There were 14 girls teams and 29 boys teams entered from across NZ.

The HGHS team consisted of six players but unfortunately due to injury the night before we took five to the tournament. The players were outstanding ambassadors for the school, they played well and their sportsmanship was of the highest order. The team came 6th overall and had some very close games.

The team - Sophie Hodges, Marina Aleksic, Paige Rendall, Dayna Burr, Tayla Millen, Isla King (injured).

Results  - St Pauls win 5/0; Tauranga Girls loss 3/2; Otumoetai loss 4/1 (overall winners); Wairarapa win 5/0; West Lake Girls loss 3/2

Sophie Hodges won all her games convincingly as the highest ranked female player of the tournament and flew out to France for the Junior World Squash Champs on Sunday afternoon after playing for us at 8am. She demonstrated outstanding commitment to the team and we wish her every success with the tournament.
