Hamilton Girls' High School has been hosting International Students for over ten years, so it’s fantastic to once again see the increased interest in New Zealand as an education destination.

We are excited to have 18 international students start their educational journey at HGHS this year. They come from Cambodia, Japan, Italy, China and the United States of America.

The International Department assist from the enrolment stage to accommodation placement and wellbeing, pastoral care and academic placement. They support each student throughout their stay in New Zealand. 

Most of our international students come to New Zealand not only for their education, but to be part of the Kiwi way of life, to visit local attractions and learn more about our culture. The reverse also occurs with international students culturally enriching our lives, sharing information, customs and traditions from their homeland. 

A big part of an international student's experience is living with a family in a homestay environment, truly an authentic experience being immersed in kiwi family life. We are always looking for families to host our international students, stays can range from two weeks to one year.
