Our Hamilton Girls’ High School futsal teams had an incredible week away at the NZ Secondary School Nationals, showcasing their skill, determination, and teamwork on the national stage.

Our Junior team had an outstanding tournament, finishing 8th overall. It was fantastic to see them compete at this level, and their performance is a promising sign for the future of futsal at HGHS. The talent and potential in this group are exciting, and we can't wait to see them continue to develop.

The Senior team played some incredibly tough matches. Despite one loss pushing them down a bracket, they fought hard and finished in 12th place. Their resilience and effort throughout the tournament were truly commendable.

Both teams experienced the intensity of penalty shootouts in crucial games - nail-biting moments that tested their nerves and composure. The girls gave it everything they had, demonstrating the hard work and dedication they’ve put into their sport.
