Whilst the rain held off it didn't stop the records from falling during the school's annual athletics championships.

Melelosaline Lose started the day by breaking the Intermediate discus record which was 32.23m set in 1968 and had stood for 54 years by throwing a massive 43.46m. She quickly followed that up with a record-breaking throw in the shot put of 12.62m breaking the old record set in 1987 of 11.44m. 

Senior shot putter Ashleigh Devine also etched her name in the record books with a throw of 12.32m on her last throw bettering the 2016 mark of 12.04m. 

Congratulations to these record breakers and all the girls who were involved. It was a great day.
