Premier Netball competed at the UNISS (Upper North Island Secondary School) Netball Tournament. The top 6 teams in this tournament go on to NZSS Nationals and are competing for those spots with over 100 other schools across Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato.

It is a gruelling 5 day tournament with 2 full games a day. HGHS came through pool play unbeaten, beating Western Springs, Waiuku, Westlake and Waitakere. This progressed us through to the top 16 where we met St Dominic's, St Peter’s and Avondale in our next pool. Taking the win against St Dominic's, and then the win against St Peter’s put us immediately into the Top 4, therefore we have qualified for NZSS for the second consecutive year.

It was a fabulous moment as we had lost 8 players from the previous year and had many new faces in our 2023 team. We are extremely proud of the team!

We now get the opportunity to play again at the NZSS Netball Championships against the 15 best teams in the country. Exciting!
