HGHS ākonga celebrated at Māori and Pasifika Awards evening.

We were pleased to host our annual Māori and Pasifika Awards evening on the 31st of November in Ngā Puāwaitanga. Friends and whānau came along to support our students, and it was a wonderful night celebrating the various successes of both Māori and Pasifika learners at HGHS.

Guests were treated to a range of performances throughout the night  - Te Maurea Whiritoi, who placed 4th at Nationals, performed a section of their set, Reipae Dunn sang beautifully, and Pasifika students performed a hula with live accompaniment.  

The Principal's Awards were announced at the end of the night. The Principal's Award for Māori Excellence, All-Rounder was awarded to Marewa Samson. The Principal's Award for Pasifika Excellence, All-Rounder was awarded to Sophie Matai'a.
