Over the summer break, our 2024 Head Girl, Paige McOnie, Deputy Head Girl, Sina Onesemo Fa’ataualofa Toa, and Hostel Head Girl, Kaytlen Tamatea-Kepa, had the opportunity to attend the International Coalition of Girls' Schools Student Leadership Conference in Sydney, Australia.

Young female student leaders from four different countries (Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Zimbabwe) participated in a four-day camp. Each day was spent attending various workshops, listening to guest speakers, and making connections with fellow leaders.

They undertook team building activities and learnt how to understand their personal leadership styles. Many new friendships were also made. The girls returned to New Zealand excited to apply these new learnings to their individual roles, and aim to help all young women at HGHS grow and reach their potential.
