HGHS Head Students Pay Their Respects at ANZAC Day Ceremony
On the 25th of April, I had the honour of joining Deputy Head Girl, Jumana Fouda, and Deputy Principal, Mrs Trenwith, to represent our school at the ANZAC Day commemoration held at Hamilton Memorial Park.
It was a deeply moving experience as we gathered alongside members of the community to pay our respects to the soldiers who served and sacrificed for our country. The atmosphere was solemn and reflective, with speeches, the laying of wreaths, and the playing of the Last Post reminding us of the importance of remembering our history.
Standing together in our school uniforms, we felt proud to be part of such a significant national tradition. Mrs Trenwith’s guidance and support made the occasion even more meaningful, and Jumana and I were grateful for the opportunity to represent our peers in honouring the ANZAC legacy. The event not only deepened our understanding of the sacrifices made by past generations but also strengthened our sense of community and national pride.
