HGHS is a pilot school for NCEA Level 1 Te Reo Māori and the University Approved subject, Te Ao Haka. Te Ao Haka is an awesome opportunity for our students who can now be accredited with University Entrance credits through the study of traditional Māori Performing Arts. Whaea Ngareta Takiari has recently joined the team to deliver this exciting programme over three classes.
Mātauranga Māori is another new subject that focuses on fostering confidence to participate in Māori language and culture in the context of the unique and special identity of Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a two-term course for all Year 9s. Recent alumni Whaea Pani Potts has recently joined the team to deliver this course, alongside the NCEA Level 1 Te Reo Māori pilot course.
Kei ngā mareikura, ngā pou o Te Ao Mārama, nau mai haere mai, nau mai hoki mai!
