International Women's Day

Paige McOnie —

March 8th is such an important day for us to celebrate - especially being an all-girls school.

International Women’s Day this year was such a beautiful day of coming together and celebrating the wonderful wāhine in our lives. In the week leading up to International Women’s Day our whānau classes took part in various activities to learn more about the day itself and connect with each other, appreciating the strength of being a woman.

Friday lunchtime of Week 6 was an incredible celebration. Our first Talent on Ten kicked off, with a sausage sizzle and tuck shop over by the music block, complete with a photo wall and info board about inspiring women and feminism in and outside of the Waikato. Thank you to everyone who came along to support, it is thanks to you that we were able to celebrate in such a wonderful way. We look forward to many more events throughout the year when we can come together as a kura and celebrate each other's successes.
