Here at Hamilton Girls’ High School we have had tremendous success in the rugby landscape in recent years.

We are always striving for success and an element of that is in securing top quality coaching and management staff to help drive the programme in creating well rounded athletes. 

Hamilton Girls’ High School are excited to welcome Reuben Samuel on board to lead the HGHS 1st XV and 7s teams for the 2023 campaign. Reuben arrives with experience to his name. Previous coaching roles include being the Technical Assistant of the Black Ferns (New Zealand women’s team) and Head Coach of the Waikato Women’s FPC team, and a recent highlight of his career was coaching the Brazilian Women’s 7s team on the HSBC World Sevens Circuit. In addition to bringing a wealth of knowledge around the game, Reuben's strength is in coaching female athletes at all levels. 

With a full rugby programme on the cards for 2023, Reuben will hit the ground running with the sevens programme before preparing the Premier XV team for the Chiefs Manawa Competition.
