The Board of Trustees extend their thanks

BOT Secretary —

The end of Term 1 approaches and with it some well deserved rest and recuperation in the holidays.

The Board wishes to extend their thanks to staff, students and whānau for navigating another Covid disrupted term, and we can only hope that it will be more settled in Term 2.

At the March meeting, the Board welcomed the Heads of Faculty for Maths, English, Science, Health & PE and Social Studies to hear the strategies these departments have put in place to meet our academic goals. They all reported with much passion and there are some exciting initiatives happening. The Senior Leadership Team is working closely with each Faculty to reduce disparity and aspire to excellent academic results for our students.

We were very excited to hear that the Hepburn building upgrade is almost complete. It has been quite a process, but we are thrilled that this facility will again be available in Term 2. Work continues with the Ministry of Education and Hamilton City Council on the proposed re-development plan for the school. Fundraising will be integral for this project, so keep an eye out for fundraising events and sponsorship opportunities to help support this.

Triennial Board Election dates have been confirmed. The election will be held on the 7th September, 2022. If you are interested in running for the Board, please have a look at the Board page on the website to gain an understanding of what the Board does within our school. Further information will be available in the coming months.

From all of the Board, we wish you all a very Happy Easter, enjoy your break with loved ones, stay safe and we will see you on your return in Term 2.
