Hamilton Girls' High School Triumphs at NZSS Volleyball Championships 2025

Hamilton Girls High School’s volleyball team achieved a remarkable victory at the NZSS Volleyball Championships 2025, taking home the gold medal in Division Five.

After a tough start with a loss in their first game on Monday morning, the team came together and won every match from then on.

As the tournament progressed, the team’s performance improved, with players growing stronger and more cohesive with each game. By Friday, their teamwork was exceptional, and they played with confidence and precision, securing the gold medal with an outstanding effort.

Key to the team’s success were Captain Kaziah Riley-Rata and Co-captain Nevaeh Faiaoga-Palaone. Their leadership was instrumental in uniting the team, keeping spirits high, and ensuring smooth coordination on the court. The guidance from Coach Tori Newing and Assistant Coach Jenna Riley-Rata also played a crucial role throughout the season. Their unwavering support and leadership helped the team push through challenges and perform at their best when it mattered most.
