Exciting news - we are getting new additions to our International student family very soon!

It has been a long time since HGHS has been able to welcome international students, but now that NZ's border settings have changed we can begin to grow our International student family.  

This will get off to a great start when the school welcomes six students from Japan for Term 3. The students, from Tokyo, Saitama and Kagoshima, are looking forward to meeting their new homestays, eating icecream and learning about our kiwi culture.

Our six current International students have impressed with their determination to stay in NZ and continue with their studies during the Covid pandemic, rather than return home like many of their peers. This has meant that they have not been able to be with their family and friends, (nor eat their favourite foods!) for more than two years. Well done girls, we are proud of you!
