Kicking off Talent Quest heats with a bang!

Emma Thien —

Our first Talent Quest heat saw so many talented girls perform in front of a massive audience turnout.

This week, HGHS had the first Talent Quest heat of 2022. Held on Wednesday at lunchtime, the whole student body had the opportunity to come and watch the incredible talents HGHS has to offer. The first four acts, Paige McOnie and Charlotte Menhennet, Elia Posimani-McCay, Hannah Schick and the HGHS Junior Dance club, all gave stunning performances and set the bar extremely high, leaving everyone astonished and craving more!

Each act was judged on technical ability, stage presence, creative expression and X-factor, by our awesome judges Whaea Mere Meha-Uelese, Margot Rawlings, Roger Hodgson and Mrs Kathleen Christian. The overall top 6 scores of the Talent Quest heats will be advancing forward to the combined HGHS and HBHS Talent Quest Final, which will be held at Hamilton Girls High School on Thursday the 7th of July later this term!

Students eagerly packed the Nga Puaawaitanga for what was a huge audience turnout in our first Talent Quest heat of 2022, and the arts faculty have only taken this as an indication of how much our students are craving for more events like this. So with that in mind, keep an eye out for more arts showcases like these on our school Instagram page!
