HGHS take top 3 at Pirongia Trail Run

Our three runners in the 8km trail run placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in youth, with Anna Wilson also setting the fastest overall female time.
Despite the event having been rescheduled multiple times due to Covid restrictions, three keen HGHS students and one foolish teacher entered themselves into the 8km Pirongia Trail Run on the Ruapane track. Our girls dominated the youth field, Anna Wilson taking 1st place in 1 hr 17 mins (putting her 4th overall and fastest female). Nisha Moorfield was 2nd in Youth at 1:24 and Carenza Elley in 3rd with 1:30. Mr Sinclair managed to hang on for a respectable 1:21, though still not quite able to beat Mrs Johnstone's time from 2020.
All are now looking forward to the 2022 edition in October, and it would be great to have more entrants!
