Update from the Board of Trustees

BOT SecretaryMarch 14, 2022

The Board of Trustees (BoT) would like to extend a warm welcome to new whānau joining the school in 2022. Together, we wish to ensure that you will enjoy a positive and productive time as part of our school community.

The start of 2022 certainly has been a little challenging with the ongoing Covid Pandemic and events courtesy of mother nature. The BoT would like to thank the staff for navigating the impact of these events and enabling school life to continue with minimal interruptions. The BoT will continue to work closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to minimise the impact of Covid, while ensuring that we keep our whole school community safe.

At the recent BoT meeting the NCEA and Academic results for 2021 were reviewed. It was pleasing to see that NCEA attainment rates for all levels (L1, L2, L3) have increased and were also significantly above National averages. The BoT and staff are working together closely to maintain these achievements, as well as reducing disparity and supporting every student to strive for excellence.

This is also a timely reminder that the Board operates a number of committees. If you are keen to get involved and contribute to any of these committees, please contact the BoT Secretary botsecretary@hghs.school.nz for more information.
