Galentine's Day at HGHS 2022

Rebecca YuanFebruary 21, 2022

We had a blast running fun activities all day long on Galentine's Day, where students were able to share their appreciation for their friends and teachers!

Galentine's Day at HGHS this year was Monday 21st February, and was an exciting start to Week 4 for all of us!

Our Prefects helped plan and prepare this day by selling personalised heart shaped cards and chocolates during Week 2. These were a special way to show our appreciation for our friends and teachers, and it was amazing to see so many students taking part. These cards and chocolates were all delivered by our Prefects during Whānau classes. Prefects dressed up in pink and red, and blasted music as they went from class to class.

During morning tea, our photo booth stall was a massive hit! Groups of friends lined up to put on fun accessories and take photos in front of the festively decorated backdrop.

At lunch time, we had two talented Year 12 students (Eila Posimani-McCay and Reipae Dunn) perform a range of songs, and students who were in the quad joined in by dancing and clapping along.

Our wonderful librarian (Ms Lambert) ran a fun activity in the school library throughout the day; "Have a Blind Date with a Book." Students were invited to come into the library and pick out a mystery book based on its 'pick-up line'.

Thank you to our teachers and Prefects who made Galentine's Day a memorable one!
