Hi all

This second to last week has gone by in a flash.We have continued with our FireWise learning and had a visit from a group of Fire Fighters who came in and spoke to the children.  We then went out and had a look at the fire engine.

Swimming has been going well and it has been great to see everyone becoming much more confident in the water.  Many have come such a long way since swimming at the start of the year.

To celebrate the start of Summer we made sand saucers – some have not quite made it home, but the though was there.

We have had a senior student spending some time in our class.  He has spent a lot of time with some of the children practicing on their scooters and today he pulled apart one of our class scooters and used it to fix another scooter – the children thought this was great,  He also gave them a toy car each which they can keep at home.

Today we had hui, then headed down to the scooter track where everyone had a great time putting their scooter and balance bike riding into practice.  Some children are still working on the scooter action, but everyone had a go and had a great time.

Our community walk with Room 3 and 4 this week was down to see the Christmas house and the end of Rimu Street.  Then we wandered through Miss Leonard’s grandparents great garden and back to school. 

There wasn’t time for swimming this afternoon so we got the hose and sprinkler out and had a fun time in the water.
