Sorry for the lack of sharing this term so far, it has been very busy and full on. What a term we are having though, we have done so much and been involved in a lot of different activities this term so far.

We have been lucky to have the YMCA come and spend Thursday afternoons with the kids and they bring a huge variety of activities with them for the kids to try. It has been great to see everyone get involved and try new things as well as seeing the kids work together and taking turns with the equipment.

Our senior kids have been doing a variety of jobs to help out around the rooms and it has been fantastic to see them take on the tasks and do them with a smile on their faces. Emily loves doing the dishes as she gets to throw bubbles at who ever is helping her! It is fantastic to see the kids taking on responsibility each day and being proud of their efforts.

We have been talking about the Zones of Regulation this term and the kids are getting really good at recognising their emotions and using some strategies we have been learning to calm themselves down when they need to.

We have started a loose parts play session on a Wednesday which the kids are enjoying. Basically this is where put put out a bunch of random stuff and the kids play and create what ever they want. We have some very creative kids and it has been to good watch some other kids grow in confidence and creativity as the weeks have gone by.
