Introducing Mr Barnett

Admin Office —

New Junior Team Teacher

Kia ora

My name is Phillip Barnett. My partner, Theresa is from Waimate and we have always been keen to head back down to the area. I am excited about my move to Timaru and joining Highfield school for the rest of the year.

I grew up in the Pohangina valley, which is a small rural area about 30km outside of Palmerston North. I have spent the last 3 and a half years in Kapiti where I have been teaching at Upper Hutt School. Before that I was teaching at a small rural school in the Wairarapa.

I love reading, and a kindle has been a fantastic investment. I’m currently sitting at 199 books so I’m keen to get one more done and hit 200! I try to stay active and healthy. I enjoy running, swimming and going for the occasional hike. I start each day by heading to the gym before school and find this to be really relaxing and a great start to my day.

I look forward to getting to know you and the school community next term.

Kind regards

Phillip
