Alert Level 2

Robyn Cooper —

Sunday 28 February

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister last night, we have moved to Covid Level 2, effective as of 6.00am Sunday 28th February - What this means for Highfield:

Classes will continue as normal under Level 2, with increased hygiene practices in place. Please remember good hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette.
Students should bring their own water bottle to school and sharing with others is prohibited. Drinking fountains will be closed.
Parents and whanau will still be able to come on site, but must complete the contact tracing register or the QR code outside classrooms or at the gates each time they are on site. You only need to do this outside one room if you have more than one child at Highfield.
Parents/caregivers won't be in classrooms at Level 2. Please say goodbye to your child outside their room if dropping off on school site.
We respectfully ask that pick up and drop is done quickly to avoid lingering at either end of the school day. Please vacate the school grounds as quickly as possible.
Pick up and drop off at normal times.
Any student who is unwell should stay at home.
Please keep to the appropriate physical distance from others.
Cleaning and disinfecting our high touch surfaces daily.
We will continue to keep our school community up to date via Facebook, Skool Loop, Hail email and Seesaw as further information comes to hand.
We know all these things will help to keep our community as safe as possible. Because of these measures, your child does not need to wear a face covering while at school. We will of course support them should they choose to do so.

The Tri a Try event planned for Thursday afternoon will still go ahead (weather permitted) but it will be spectator free. We are investigating ways to live stream it to our whānau instead. Currently the planned school camp for Year 7/8 students from 9 - 12th March will still be going ahead.

For those of you who might be finding things more difficult than usual, a reminder that there is a large range of support available for businesses and the community. We encourage you to go to the covid19.govt.nz for more information, or get in touch and we will help you to find the information and support you need.
