We have had a fabulous week.  It has been good to get to know our new children, and to see those who started last year growing in confidence and independence at some activities.  

As it has been a short week we have taken time to settle in, and have started to get some routines for learning in place.  A number of children have already started storytelling (writing) where they draw a picture and tell their story for the teacher to write, and write numbers to 10 and count items.

Swimming has been very popular, so hopefully the warm days will continue.  Today we had our team hui in Ruma Riroriro, and also went on a Community Walk where we wear a vest and go for a walk and explore around our neighbourhood.

We have five Monarch caterpillars in our class.  Each day we will be checking to see how they are growing.  Our shared story this week and next week is The very hungry caterpillar.
