This term Kārearea have been learning about Aotearoa NZ histories.

Specifically we have learnt about Mana in Māori society and how mana is evident in Māori protests.

We have talked about land marches and created a timeline of Māori protests and looked at how the NZ flag has evolved.

We have also researched the different iwi in NZ, where they are located, how they express their mana differently to other iwi and to pākehā.

We are currently looking at the Māori economy including the opportunities and challenges.
