Wise Weka students have been truly inspired the internationally known, NZ artist Hayley King (aka Flox). Flox is famous for her vibrant New Zealand native bird and flora paintings and murals, using a variety of techniques including stencils and aerosols. She even has an amazing mural right here in Timaru's CBD!
Last week the students used watercolours to create their backgrounds.
Then we started stage 2..... the layering of our leaf prints using printing inks, rollers and fresh leaves from the school gardens. Students are carefully considering many of the elements of art, including space, texture and colours.
