Whanaungatanga

What is Whanaungatanga? It is about relationship, kinship and a sense of family connection. It is created through shared experiences and working together and provides people with a sense of belonging. It comes with rights and obligations, which serve to strengthen each member of that whānau or group.

Whanaugatanga is Highfield School's overarching theme this year.

In Room 6 we have been talking about - how do we show this?

Two of the ways we show this, includes meeting Miss Leonard and Room 2 each Wednesday at the library where we spend time talking and reading to the younger students.

We also meet Mr Boon and Room 9 each week for buddies and complete fun activities together.  Last week we created virtual reality pictures using the app Quiver which were uploaded onto the class iPad.
