Bees in Schools

Robyn Cooper —

The Little Honey Co.

A few weeks ago we had an incredible session at Highfield School in Timaru for our Bees in Schools programme! Highfield School is a new participant in our programme this year, and we were thrilled to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students firsthand. During this session, we had the fantastic opportunity to extract honey from our buzzing bee colonies. The students learned about the fascinating world of bees, their essential role in pollination, and the process of honey production. They were amazed by the hard work of our little pollinators and how they transform nectar into the golden goodness we all love. But that's not all! Our next session at Highfield School will be even sweeter as we will be pottling the honey into jars. The students will have the chance to design their own labels, making each jar unique and ready to market and sell. Imagine the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that will be unleashed in the process! We can't wait to see what amazing designs they come up with. A huge shoutout to the incredible staff at Highfield School for embracing our Bees in Schools programme and giving their students this invaluable experience. Together, we're nurturing a love for nature, fostering sustainable practices, and empowering the next generation to make a positive impact on our environment. Stay tuned for updates on our next session and get ready to support these young entrepreneurs as they bring their delicious honey to market. Let's spread the buzz and show them some love! #BeesInSchools #HoneyExtraction #StudentEntrepreneurs #SustainableLiving #NatureEducation
