On Monday we got all of the ingredients out onto the table. We followed this recipe.  We mixed everything in the food processor, then rolled it up to go in the fridge over playtime.  After play we cut out our gingerbread men with the play dough cutters.  Then we took them to the hall kitchen to cook them in the oven.  Once they were cool we iced them and stuck on lots a wee sprinkles. Everybody tried their one that they got to decorate themselves.  We took one to Mrs Logavatu, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Casey-Newton in the office.

This week we got to see four of our butterflies hatch out – the last one hatched yesterday.

I was so proud of everyone and the way they managed the changing and swimming routines, and that they all gained more confidence in the pool.

For numeracy we are learning and practicing reading numbers to 20, counting forward to 10, 20 and 100, counting backwards from 10 and counting groups of items up to 10.  Everyone is getter better at forming their numbers to 10,

For literacy our shared story is Gingerbread Man.  Our nursery rhymes are Mary had a little lamb and Hey diddle diddle.  We have starting activities to learn about the letter names and sounds, this week was the letter m.

We have created, drawn, painted, coloured, glued, cut out a variety of Gingerbread Men.  We also had yummy spicey smelling playdough to go with the gingerbread man cutters.

In the afternoons we have been learning and practicing how to roll and ball, and underarm throwing bean bags at targets.
