Room 11 have started this term off with a bang and jumped straight into our inquiry topic, Tūrangawaewae. They started off by looking at our world and what continents, oceans and mountain ranges make it up. They also looked at topographic/contour maps and created their own maps with their very own mountain.

They then tried to create their own topographic map using playdough and floss. This children had so much fun making, drawing and naming their mountain.

Room 11 have also been enjoying some independent silent reading time. A number of the students have a goal to read more so they are now doing silent reading every day with a book of their choice. Its great to see how engrossed they are in the book they have chosen.
