Week 6

Robyn CooperJune 7, 2022

Kia ora koutou,

It has been great to have parents back on site over the last few weeks and we have really appreciated everyone following the guidelines in place. We have definitely missed having our parents onsite so it is great to see lots of you at the start and the end of the day.

We are still having a small number of cases of Covid and some learners off for being close contacts but nothing like we were last term. Please continue to let us know if your child is home as a positive case or a household contact. We are however having other illnesses starting to increase so please keep your children home if they are sick.

It has been exciting for the children over the last couple of weeks as some of our external activities are starting to happen again. We had a group of our student leaders attend a PALs training day down at the stadium with Sport South Canterbury. This was followed by a large group of our senior students going up to Christchurch last week for the National Young Leaders Day. We also have a number of students representing our school at the Interschool Cross Country next week. It is great to finally be able to offer these opportunities to our children.

Thank you for your support of our teacher only day on Friday. The staff enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with the other teachers from our neighbouring schools and share ideas. No doubt you will see the results of this mahi filter into our classroom practices and enhance your child's learning experiences.
