FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Kia ora koutou

With the lifting of restrictions we have been able to return to some form of normality with the return of school events. Our assemblies have resumed, Saturday sport is up and running, and we have had junior and senior student parent/teacher interviews over the last few weeks. We recently had our International Concert celebrating our many cultural groups to a packed auditorium.

As we continue to navigate the absences of students and staff to Covid, isolating and other illness over winter we will continue to draw on Schoology, our Learning Management System to support students with online learning when they are absent.

The Board of Trustees is undergoing a review of our current Strategic Plan and we want you to be part of shaping the future direction of the school over the next 3 to 5 years. We have organised meetings at school for our parents and whaanau over the coming weeks to gather your feedback. We are also sending out a questionnaire that we would like you to complete - your feedback is important to us.

Registrations for the school's 50th reunion being held over Matariki weekend is gaining real momentum. The jubilee committee has worked hard to put together a programme that showcases our school, while also looking back on the previous 50 years since the school opened in February 1972. In registering for the reunion activities, you will also become an alumni member (former staff and students). We are keen to build up our alumni membership and make those connections with past staff and students. If you haven’t already done so, please check our reunion website out on www.hillcresthigh50.com
