Circumspeekayweekay

One of my favourite things about being a leader at Hillcrest is our ability to create and implement new events. This year the other Head Students and I decided to run a four day long event called “Circumspeekayweekay”, deriving the name from our school motto ‘Circumspice’.

Just as our motto means ‘look around you’, we wanted to inspire students to ‘look around’ at all of the opportunities we have on offer. On Monday we had the Head Students VS The Deans in a range of challenging activities, with the star of the event being the game of pie face that was played.

Tuesday was the ‘Dad Joke Off’, with many students trying but not quite being able to beat Mr Chibnall, who most believe is the inventor of the Dad Joke as he is simply so good.

On Wednesday we had a dance party which of course had disco lights, glow sticks and balloons as well as some fabulous music.

Our last event, which was the most anticipated, was the annual Student vs Teacher basketball match. It was a nail biting game which kept the audience on the edge of their seats. It is a testament to the Hillcrest culture that we are able to see teachers and students both getting involved with the events, which allows us to really maximise our school spirit.
