Winter sport update

Winter sport is heading towards the end of its season with premier teams getting ready for tournament week in late august.

Our junior premier boys and girls football teams are both through to the semi finals of the knockout cup. The boys will play HBHS and the girls will play Hauraki Plains, both on August 26. Both of these teams are playing great football, with a positive style of play and some outstanding goals being scored.

Our girls premier gold basketball team are through to the final after beating our premier blue team 45-43 in the semi final on Monday night. They will play Sacred Heart in the final on Friday.

The premier Netball team is having great success and are currently leading the top 4 of the premier secondary school league having beaten both Sacred Heart and HGHS in the first two rounds. A win this week against TVP Thunder will secure top position heading into the playoffs.

Our premier girls Lacrosse team are also leading the premier grade top 4 after wins against Te Awamutu (8-6) and Matamata (6-5).

We had 5 girls compete in the recent NZSS Squash championships and they have done amazing in finishing 11th in NZ. Jaimee McEwen and Tashika Desai played exceptionally well against higher grade players in the match against Tauranga Girls, with Tashika beating her opponent.
