Junior Debating: Waikato Schools Tournament 2023
We had a vibrant and highly successful season! Five junior teams competed across five rounds. Well done to all students involved. It takes courage and commitment to debate in this tournament. These are a very inspiring group of young people.
We are thrilled to share that two Hillcrest High School teams took part in the recent Semi-final, held at the University of Waikato.
Congratulations to the Avengers (Open section): Chloe Neville, Khadija Tayyab, and Shambhavi Das. After a close debate with St John's College, they are through to the Final!
Likewise, a big congratulations to the Penguins of Madagascar (Novice section) - who took the debate against Hamilton Boys’ High; also through to the Final: Ellie Brake, Kapisha Kalarathan, Zoya Mujeeb, and Taira Littlewood. This will take place on the 17th of August.
