School Uniform

With the start of the school year approaching it is timely to remind students of our expectations around school uniform. Last year we listened to students who wanted to see some changes to allow more ways for them to express their individuality.

We strongly believe in being a uniform school for a number of reasons.

  • Uniforms can contribute to a sense of pride and identity for the school community. When students wear a uniform with the school's colours and logo, it helps build a stronger connection.
  • Uniforms eliminate the pressure to wear trendy or expensive clothes, reducing the likelihood of students being bullied or judged based on their attire and can contribute to a more inclusive and supportive school environment.
  • It helps create a more professional atmosphere within the school, preparing students for future workplaces where dress codes are common.
  • Uniforms can contribute to a positive school image. This can positively impact how the school is perceived by students, parents, and the community.

  • School uniforms make it easier for staff to identify intruders or individuals who do not belong on school premises.

Uniform guidelines can be found on our school website, please refer to these to ensure that your student is in the correct uniform.

However one change for 2024 is:

  • Students can now wear one nose stud

Hoop earrings and nose rings are a health and safety issue and will be confiscated.

New Zealand Uniforms are located at 244 Tristram Street, Hamilton Central and are open Mon - Friday to 5pm and Saturday to 4pm.

If you have any questions relating to uniform please contact Deputy Principal Amber Ganley.
