Student Attendance 2025

Sam Ainsworth —

Kia ora koutou, Warm greetings to you all,

This year the Ministry of Education has a goal of raising student attendance as part of raising student achievement. The governments target is for 80% of students to attend school more than 90% of the time (90% means less than 5 days absent in each term).

Here at Hillmorton High School, we know that students who are absent for more than 5 days each term have far less chance of success. We want to work in partnership with parents and whānau to ensure your children attend school regularly.

If your child is absent, late or needs to leave early for any reason, please notify us in one of the following ways:

  1. SchoolBridge App (download the app on to your mobile device via App stores)

  2. Email: absentee@hillmorton.school.nz

  3. Phone: 03 338 5119 (our preferred options for reporting an absence is via SchoolBridge or Email)

We ask that you seriously consider NOT taking holidays during the school term. Over the year there are 12 weeks of holidays. Please arrange your holidays during that time

Thank you for working alongside us.

Ngā mihi,

Ann Brokenshire
