'Inspirational' Public Speaking in the Middle School
Twenty-three students from Years 7 to 10 competed in this year's competition, with a very high standard of public speaking across the board.
The theme this year was 'Inspirational', with students choosing a person who inspired them as the focus for their speeches. Topics ranged from celebrities like Michelle Obama, David Tennant, Tupac Shukar and Emma Watson to some moving personal speeches about friends, coaches and family members.
Our judges, Eleanor Sim (Deputy Principal) and Jasmine Robb (trainee teacher and Performing Arts specialist) agreed on the following winners:
Year 7: Sasha-Helena Begg
Year 8: Bea Christie
Year 9: Charlotte Shepherd
Year 10: Yuki Lin
The overall winner of the competition was Yuki Lin (Y10)
Euan Lewis(Y9) in 2nd place
Charlotte Shepherd(Y9) in 3rd place
