Food Insecurity... not having reliable access to enough safe and nutritious food that meets the personal and cultural needs of a household.

Our class visited the Hoon Hay Foodbank on McCarthy Street as part of a unit on Food Security in New Zealand. We wanted to learn more about this local not for profit provider of food parcels for those locals in need and the place it has in our community. Some Akonga are hoping to individually return to the foodbank to complete some volunteer work in the near future.
